Ash domestic hardwood lumber is known for stability and its strength-to-weight ratio and is open-pored with light-colored, almost white sapwood.  The grain of ash hardwood generally runs straight with a uniform, coarse texture.  It kiln-dries well with little downgrade and is readily available.
