White Oak Hardwood Lumber

White Oak hardwood lumber has a straight and open grain which, when flat or plain sawn, displays a cathedral patterning on the face of the board. Flat sawn material is most common and more economical than rift or quarter sawn material; the majority of our FAS White Oak thus contains flat sawn boards.

Sapwood is cream white and heartwood dark grey-brown. Although dense, strong and durable, White Oak has excellent bending properties. It machines, nails, screws and finishes well. An excellent hardwood for use in flooring, furniture, cabinetry, millwork and boat building.

We carry character-grades of White Oak including Rustic, Rift, Quarter-sawn and Center Cut White Oak.
